  • Priests are usually of Catholic or Anglican denominations. Vicars are Church of England and some are called priests by some people but they are normally of Protestant Church , not as high church as Anglican Preachers are I believe a little more like travelling Evangeslists or other denominations of the Protestant Church. I hope that is right about other denominations, they seem to be getting mixed up these days

A Vicar is someone appointed to cover a particular area, usually at the lowest level of the hierarchy: the word has roots in common with "vicarious", pertaining ro a region. A Preacher is anyone who preaches: they may or may not be ordained (several denominations recognize lay preachers).
