  • Yes. Better the restaurant is disappointed than my kid. They deal with that everyday, but what did it teach your nephew? (Not a very big deal, it's just the point).
  • I don't think so. I rarely ever send food back because I have a fear of what is going to be done to it before it is returned to me. Better your nephew was disappointed than made ill with whatever "corrections" are made in the kitchen!
  • Yes. If they had told the waiter/waitress that the order was wrong and done it politely, no one would have messed with his food. People in the kitchen only mess with a person's food if the patron is completely rude and nasty.
  • The biggest jot is that nephew was disappointed. Your nephew's needs should come before the restaurant's. But if he was overreacting over something relatively minor, may be appropriate. It sounds like it would have been easy enough , though, to ask restaurant to give you a little chili to add to burger...especially if chili burger costs more than what you got.
  • It depends entirely on the situation. If it might take too long to get corrected I'll tell my kids that's the reason and try to reach a compromise, like switching some food or saying we'll get a dessert somewhere. Usually I will say something because it teaches the child how to ask for something they want and how to deal with a potentially negative situation.
  • When you spend your money for a service, you should expect to receive what you paid for. If not, then it needs to be corrected.
  • most places will spit in your food if you send it back. Just to let you know, so next time you ask for medium and it comes back medium well think is it really that important?
  • well you should take in account if the parents have been there before and have gotten bad service because they sent food back. if they have, then they were probably doing the right thing. if they havent then something is wrong with the parents.
  • It is hard to say until you are in a postion like this but i would have taken the chance to show my son that you can ask people to correct mistakes correctly. I really dont think anyone inthe restaurant would have minded fixing the order.. really mistakes happen everyday .. it is just how we as customers respond these mistakes right?? i would have tried to please my son.. i mean he wasnt just being picky.. but it is a restaurant and you are supposed to have a choice with what u want right??
  • just noticed that this one is from a while back but still.... was thinking if he is treated this way.. they really should be asked what they would do if it was their order that got messed up.. right?
