Nobody I know would do that without asking. I don't have that kind of friends. If someone did it, I would probably talk to them and let them know they should ask first. It's actually hard for me to imagine this being much of a problem!

All my friends are more polite than that, but it is also the polite thing to do to ask if they would like something. Then I would give them what they requested...except for the wine, and explain why. ;-) I also think that it is sort of a good thing if a friend feels that comfortable in your home.

I can't stand it, but it happens all the time. I keep saying I will stop buying certain foods and beverages because I never get to consume them. My daughters friends eat all the food I want to eat, drink cases of bottled water and soda. Nobody ever offers to replace it.

Sure my friends do that, but for them to be in my house in the first place means you're like family and welcome to whatever you want. I happen to be a nondrinker for the most part, so my friends usually have to bring beer or something with them. HEH, makes it cheaper for me!
