  • Ummm more than that. I've promised to myself not to give negative points at all. Look at my stats. =)
  • absolutely - postitively!!!!!!
  • I think my stats tell it all
  • Just ran across this one. I will take that oath. I will also swear not to give points to a question simply because that person is my friend - The question or answer MUST be good! ;-)
  • No thanks. I don't feel the need to be solemn, and who, exactly, would I be swearing to? True, there's no reason to downrate an opinion question, but if someone's asking for a factual answer and someone gives an opinion that I disagree with, there's nothing wrong with downrating them. But really, the only time I'll downrate someone is if they answer a question with "I don't know".
  • That has pretty much always been my credo.
  • Sign me up....I'm in.
  • I promise...I also promise to give good points because I can.
  • No I will take mine and invite all other evil clones to do likewise. "I obscenely swear that I will give negative points whenever it takes my fancy. Sometimes for no reason other than that someone has an avatar which displeases me. I will save my positive points for questions, which in my opinion, have been downrated by prudes and busybodies, even if they are rude/obscene/misleading answers/questions that are made to hurt feelings."
  • I'll take that oath, and promise from this day forward not to give another D/R.
  • That's the way I operate now, and I give a reason for my downrating. Ask a question, and you may not like the answer you get. I never mind being downrated--what the hell am I ever going to use these points for anyway-but it is cowardly, proof of an insecure person wielding false power, and just plain mean to downrate and not give the reason. Judging from at least 2 previous answers, I can expect some negative points for the next week or so--go for it. +5 points for you.
  • It's easy to promise to do something that I already do, so count me in!
  • I'll add that I won't even downrate rude, obscene misleading answers but only ones that will hurt people and are dangerously wrong and I will not give negative points to ANY question at all. If it deserves anything it will be flagged.
  • The only time I give negative are within those parameters. Lately, I've been trying to not give any DR's, but there are too many rude, misleading answers and questions to let them all go. If they simply disagree, I can leave it, but when they start the question with "anyone is stupid if they don't go along wih me..." then it's hard to resist giving a DR. A lot of times you can tell the person that gave a rude answer wouldn't "get it" if you gave them a comment, or it may take a very long time to explain why they are wrong. Rude people don't like to be told they're wrong. I'm trying real hard to not give any negative pts though!
  • No, I like to lead my own path. I have given you plus points to show my irregular point giving, even though I don't agree. :-) I tend to save my points usually for opinions I specifically disagree with. As opposed to ignorant or offensive remarks which aren't worth generating the contempt for.
  • I will and do promise to be true to the Oath.
  • That's already my modus operandi.
  • No need to take that oath, I never give negative points altogether...
  • Great Idea! I'm there!!!
