I am NOT skilled in TKD at all, however I am a very highly skilled martial artist. According to what I have been taught, and now teach, every stance has its own double meaning (at least, usually complex multi-meaning) ... one defensive, and one offensive. Just moving from any one stance to any other stance can be a defensive move and/or an attack ... adding any type of technique while moving into a new stance will only add to the meaning. Although TKD is just a casual game, it is based on three very serious arts of war, Hapkido, Hwrangdo, and Tangsoodo ... and hidden in the game of TKD are all of the foundations of the three founding war arts, with all the deadly meanings to all the stances. __________ I am very familiar with Judo & Jujitsu. Judo is just a game, much like TKD is just a game, and like the way TKD is based on true warfare combat arts, Judo is based on Jujitsu ... and although Judo is a safe and harmless game, all the deadly aspects of Jujitsu are hidden within the game of Judo.
