A church: is where the followers of the Abrahmic god Yaweh gather to pay the preacher 10% of thier money and to sing depressing songs and listen to the preacher yell alot. It is a place Parents take thier children to scare the living tar out of them with threats of a place of torture called hell; in hopes it will make them behave. To enhance the visual aspects the church implements tortures to keep people on thier toes, sometimes poisonous snakes are brought into it, sometimes the torture includes grown adults acting like they are posessed, rolling in the floor screaming gibberish. Sometimes they even invite guest preachers who have proven they can yell the loudest and make the most noise. Bouncers called 'deacons' (change a letter!) block the door to prevent escape and ensure the torture is completed. Of course these were only my experiences.... I might be a little tiny bit opinionated. A coven: A gathering of people of like mind usually outside in nature, chanting spells for bettering the lives of themselves and others. Dancing and singing and sometimes a bonfire under a full moon. Worshipping the goddess and her loving ways.... and worshipping the goddess within us. The high priestess offers help and advice but does not force it. Stories are sometimes shared and rituals to celebrate changes in nature sometimes take place..... They are both a gathering of people for a religious purpose.... The religion is the major difference.
