  • Don't take it personally -- if I was a boss, and had someone that wanted to talk "privately" with me every few days -- I'd think that person was a pain -- or if it was a woman, and since I am a man -- I'd be suspicious of the woman's intent.
  • Be careful what you do. If you're suspicious, there's probably a reason for it. In all honesty, if it's that big an issue, AnswerBag is probably not the place to be during working hours.
  • Try not to take it personally hon. If there is one thing I have learned in life you can't make everyone like you. In life there is inevitably going to be some people that no matter how much you go out of your way to be friendly and please them are just simply not going to like you. They will always find something to pick on you about no matter what. If you are doing what you should be doing you have nothing to be concerned about. Hopefully sooner or later your boss will see this and will deal with her appropriately if she indeed is complaining about you.
  • Here's another possibility..how long are they in there together? Are they alone? Is the door locked? I had a situation in which I got a new job and the secretary and the boss, at least once weekly, had closed-door(locked door) "meetings" that took anywhere from half an hour to an hour..I think whatever you think was going on behind those locked doors was in fact going on! :)
  • closed doors? suspicious
  • DOCUMENT DOCUMENT DOCUMENT every single thing you do at work. It is only your business what is going on IF you are being 'set up' for demotion or firing. Otherwise, figure that whatever they are is their problem and try and minimise any you have yourself : )
