Not much it would seem. It's our (non-blood) sacrifices that are more sure to help us. If we study what Jesus taught and ponder over his sayings and are then prepared to sacrifice our lifestyles that is bound to do more for us. Remember the person who came to Jesus and addressing him as Good Master asked him what he should do in order to have eternal life. Jesus did not say to him 'relax I'm soon going to shed my blood for you'. First he corrected the person for praising him (Jesus) and told him to turn his praises to God instead and then told him what will earn him paradise. "Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments." That person was rebuked for wanting to pin his hope on Jesus by calling him good, modern Christian wants to pin his hope on the blood of Jesus by calling it good. The Holy Qur’an (HQ) which came a few centuries after Jesus tried to restore his teachings. For example HQ 18:110 asks Mohammed to “Say: I am only a mortal like you. My Lord inspireth in me that your God is only One God. And whoever hopeth for the meeting with his Lord, let him do righteous work, and make none sharer of the worship due unto his Lord.”
