  • I stoped taking CITALOPRAM. a few months back, because I felt that I didn't need it, and that I would be ok on my own :-( It made me so much worse, I felt really bad and the thoughts were really bad :-( Please don't stop taking your medication without talking to your doctor, they can reduce the dose gradually and help you with any problems. My dose has now doubled because I was an idiot, I set my "recovery" back by at least 6 months maybe more. I hope this helps in some small way, the medication is different but for the same sort of thing.
  • You should not stop taking fluoxetine suddenly. You are supposed to phase off of it by gradually reducing the dose.
  • Warning!!! Use extreme caution when you stop. You need to taper off - call your doc before you do this. I became extremely ill for about 3 days after I started tapering off - I was almost non-functioning. I will never take meds like this again! Ever!!! Not to mention the fluxotene did not agree with me at all and made me extremely agitated, anxious and even more depressed than when I started taking it! Why would someone do this to themselves??? No thanks, I'll deal with life naturally!!
