Is your puppy a big dog? Then one butt shouldn't be too harmful. However, if it is a small dog, you might want to call the vet.

http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_nicotine_poisoning_in_pets.html According to this site, your doggy should be ok. But check out the poison symptoms so you can watch your pup.

It'll be fine, just let it pass. I have had experience with this before, and nothing happened. :) **edit: (My experience was referring to my dog having eaten the cigarette butt, not me.) :D

I would say call your vet just to let them know and also they might have some suggestions as to what you might consider feeding the dog to help with the situation... Based upon what I was able to read on it, it should be ok, but I'd rather my Vet be aware that there could be a problem developing, than to not know and boom here we are. I assume you will be taking steps to insure this doesn't happen again, I smoke too...and being sure animals cannot get to them new or used is paramount to me.

I'm sure he/she will be fine. It will probably end up throwing it up! LOL Not laughing at your dog but I was thinking of this time when I was about 12 or 13 and one of my friends from across the street came over and we were standing outside smoking a joint and my dad pulled up so he threw it down and stepped on it, well we had this little puppy who came behind him and ate it. Well he ended up throwing it up RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY DAD!! LOL So that damn puppy got me busted! :D He was ok though.

no problem it will pass through...tobacco will kill worms in the dogs digestive system...

I am dog sitting for friends and their 6 month old Great Dane may have just ate an entire pack of cigarettes. He seems okay, but I want to be sure because obviously, it's not my dog. I had Great Danes growing up and they ate many many things they shouldn't have and were always fine, but again, it's not my dog so I figured I'd check.

You might need to buy her a heating blanket, because the cigarettes make her so cool
