D would be the right and also inform if possible the owner.

Give it back. If someone lost a million dollars, they would definitely notice it. And if they have that much money, they'll most likely give you a reward of some kind. I don't like bad karma.

E. First I would get a wheelbarrow because this is a very large wallet. Then I would most likely try to locate the person whose name was on the ID. I would want to be the first one to tell them I had found their money. I like to be the first to share good news. Then I would tell them they could pick up their wallet at the police station. And of course I would take the wallet and it's contents to the police station.

a million?! oooooh yeah id keep that! if you are so dumb to LOSE a million dollars I dont have a ounce of sympathy

That would have to be a pretty big wallet! I would inform the police. There's a certain amount of time that the owner has to pick up the "find". After that, legally, it's yours if no one has claimed it.

I would either give the money back or inform the police.

its not mine ..so back to the owner it would go ..intact!!, and maybe they would see fit to offer a reward ..if not ah well at least I did the right thing and thats good enough for me :)

Funny thing about this question. At the main HQ at FedEx, there's an envelope with about $300K waiting for the owner to show up and claim it. Seems the envelope got torn ad the carrier noticed it... Cops werre informed and told FedEx to give them a jingle if the claimant showed..Never has..I wonder if the person it was being sent to, took revenge on the sender if ti wasn't themselves?? :)

An honest person does not simply take possession of property which obviously belongs to another. And honesty is always the best policy, even in today's questionable "ethics" system. So, (A) Don't keep it. (B) Don't give the money to charity - it IS NOT yours to give, and if you do you have made no personal contribution/sacrifice toward helping the less unfortunate. (C)Definitely inform the police of your "find." You wouldn't want to be a party to theft or other illegal activities. (D) Be man/woman enough to always strive to do the RIGHT thing, to the best of your ability. You won't regret it.
