FDR said you have nothing to fear but fear itself. I think that says its all. Different people fear different things but the reality is, when you are acutally confronted with what you fear, it is one of the most difficult things to overcome.

nope. i think some of them can be anger ,pessimism,jealously....so to say.

In some cases, yes. One can overcome some fears (like of spiders, for example) by being exposed to them over and over again until one no longer feels/fears anything..same thing with a fear of heights. But some fears are real...a fire engulfing surrounding homes, an earthquake devasting your town...someone lying to you or undermining you or trying to attack you in some way..some things you need to fear in order to try to avoid them or protect yourself against them.

Yes. For example, my fear of the dark. After forcing myself to stay in the dark for long periods of time, I was able to cure myself.

Yes, I believe it is. We have free will. We make the decisions about what we do with our lives, good or bad, etc.... So, yes, we I feel that we can control fear and keep it under wraps.

I think fear is part of our human nature. Such as the fear of death, or perhaps better to call it, the will to live. When we lose the will to live, that's when we have a big problem. We each have a will to live and I believe we should listen to it. -In the Master's service. Thank you and God bless you!

Not at all. Mind over matter can be used in many ways. Have you never done any of the "light as a feather" tricks? When i was 14 a friend and I lifted one of the biggest football players in our school above our heads using just our index fingers. Once I did that, I knew I could talk myself into many things. I have yet to be able to overcome my fear of spiders, but I do work on that.

More or less yes. In Nam I got through because I convinced myself that I was walking dead. It was going to happen. It droped my fear level an incredible amount. I'm still a walking dead man, but all men are. The majority just don't know it or choose to be aware of it... :-)

Only to a degree. There is conscious fear that I believe we can control, but it takes a lot more to handle the instictive "fight or flight" reaction we have in situations of extreme fear or danger. Its possible to learn to manage these reactions but it takes practice and most people are rarely exposed to situations that provide that experience.
