What do you think about the fact that Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Ritchie violated the law pretty bad and had to serve mere minutes in jail due to overpopulation?

I bet if I was caught jay walking there would be room in a jail cell for me...but for them..money talks.

It just goes to show how unjust the entire 'justice system' is and how it is set up on many occasions to serve the needs of those who have either money, fame, and/or high-priced attorneys to bail them out. On a lighter note, Nicole is so paper thin, how much could she contribute to a prison's overcrowding?

I hope that if for some reason I would have to go to jail, that the judge would sentence me to that jail they were in. My luck though, I'd have to serve out my sentence..

I think a lot of folks are being sentenced to jail for victimless crimes while those that put others at extreme risk (such as drunk drivers) go free. I think we should stop legislating morality.

I don't like the way things are with people who make a whole lot of money. I strongly feel that they should have got more jail time and treated the same way as the rest of those who have committed the same types of crimes. Just because money may talk, I still feel that they should not get the lighter sentences.

personally i dont find them news worthy at all.... we as americans spend way to much time watching famous people act like fools....what ever happened to the important issues effecting the world today?

Celebrity has it's ups sometimes, I guess. There was a big article in our Sunday paper on how our state is paroling convicts at a record pace, and before they should be paroled as per the state law. There's just too much crime and it will get worse. So fools like Lohan and Ritchie will continue to break laws and get away with it.

Just another sad reminder of how low I am on the totem pole. I'd most certainly be in jail now if I violated the same laws. (So, what else is new?)

and OJ walked and so did Michael Jackson. It just shows what a bad state our legal system (by our I mean the western world--I am not an american) is in.
