I'm think that I'm beyond sick and tired of questions about reactions to other questions. Oy.

I think it was quite a funny question, even if I'm not sure it is right, I'll have to check that :-) I often get downrated just for giving an opinion, I don't let it bother me anymore :-)

It's sad that the swastika was stolen by the Nazis. It's used to be a religious symbol, a symbol of well-being, luck, strength. Presumably, the Nazis took it because because they thought their ideal was strength, and the things they interpreted it as representing. Using the word should not warrant negative rating. It isn't even controversial in the East, where it still has cultural and religious significance. Should we hate the symbol of the cross / crucifix, because the KKK love it so?

For your question NO. For the anti Jews, YES

I read the question, and it was obviously intended to be funny. Aside from the answer regarding your bias against those states, I wouldn't worry to much about it. I didn't see it at first, because I was thinking "four corners". But after analyzing the attached picture, it looks more like a cross in the center. But maybe I need my vision checked. Here's a point for asking a very compelling question.

So answerers on this site read at about the same level as those on the other infamous site. I happen to volunteer at my library's literacy program. I'd be glad to help, if called on. Until then, I say redraw the states to look like a Pink Unicorn!

I find the swastika symbol offensive but I wouldn't give someone a negative rating just for using the word..it just describes a geometric form.
-
Of course not.....not just using the word. Are you aware that there is a town in Northern Ontario, Canada, called Swastika?

Waves hello (again) at Tegarst and hopes he returns soon. :o) Certainly discussing a swastika is no reason for a DR in and of itself.
