At work, how much control do you have over your workload? would you prefer to have more or less control?

Since I am a Team Lead, I have as much control over it as I possibly can. The client dictates when projects are due and of course everybody has to please the client. I am in charge of scheduling the resources required for each project to make sure it is done before the deadline.

About 80% I can control. I believe I'm satisfied where I'm at right now, so remaining status quo is my choice. :)

90% of my workload is in my control, and the other 10% are things that people throw on my desk at the last moment. I am given a lot of freedom and I love it. I can't picture going back to an environment where everything is monitored and controlled for me.

I'm the boss, so I have complete control, and I like it that way. :)
