  • I've heard of adults who bed wet. I just brought my 8 yr old son to a massage therapist 5 days ago -- he has not had a dry morning in his life without me waking him every 2 hours to go to the bathroom... but since his appointment, he has been dry or barely wet at all. I am making another appointment for him in a couple weeks and I'm sure that will help him even more. Try to find a very good massage therapist, and see if she can get any results from that. It's worth the try!
  • Yes. My cousin has it, and it is a very common, yet embarrassing problem. For more about this type of problem, see the items on the search list: http://www.google.com/search?num=50&hl=en&q=young+adult+incontinence&btnG=Search
  • Yes, I have. She eithe sleeps very sound, has an over active bladder, a too small bladder, or weak control in her pelvis. One thing she could try is Kegle Exercises.
  • I've heard of adults wetting the bed - don't know any. Never heard of it coming from their mother.
  • Absolutely. Bedwetting is inherited. My father was a bedwetter until about 12, his brothers wet the bed until puberty, both my brother and I peed our bed every night until about 13-My sister wet her bed until she started having periods at about 12. I still have problems with occasional bedwetting at 36.
  • Yes, there are adults who still wet their beds - I know, I am one of them. And I suspect that it is more common than is generally appreciated, because I think that most people who do it would never admit it. I've read that there is some evidence that it can be hereditary. Certainly, my own mother had severe problems with day and night incontinence. I'm a 45-year-old female, who has never completely overcome bedwetting, and I don't think I ever will. To be perfectly frank, I gave up worrying about it many years ago. No doctor, consultant, or any kind of specialist (and I've seen dozens over the years) has ever come up with a cure. In my case, it's very erratic; I can go months, even a couple of years without it happening, on the other hand I've had periods of wetting every night for weeks. Like I said it no longer bothers me. Since I live alone (by choice) it doesn't affect anyone else, and on the rare occasions when I'm not sleeping in my own bed, I wear a nappy.
