Help answer this question below.
I am going on ten years too, this month, and i am ready to switch, but something is holding me back.
I have worked at the same place for almost 20 years.
Ten years is a long time to work anywhere. It is supposed to eb a good thing to change jobs every three to four years. Typically if you stay with the same company for a very long time you will not do as well as you would if you moved to better positions in different companies. Having said that, if you truly love your job and the place that you work and have great benefits and a great salary, then you don't need to move.
Do what makes you happy.
Never worked anywhere over 4 years. That's a record for me. I get bored sooooo easy, I'm starting to think I have issues. Nah....
I've been at my current job for just under 1 year. Previous job was 4 1/2 years, before that was 1 month short of 5 years.
In 9 years I have changed jobs 13 times. In 2 places I stayed at the same company, but changed departments and positions. 11 different companies. One company I left and am in the process of going back to. I have the gypsy blood when it comes to moving around in jobs. I can't stand the same thing for 10 years when it comes to my job. I get bored easily.
I graduated from college in 1991. I had my firtst job till 1999. I quit that job and started my own company and I've been happy with that since then. I can't imagine ever changing now as long as the business survives.
I seem to change jobs every 4 years or so. I have been at my current job the longest yet.....just over six years. But.....I am looking for something closer to home.
I've been at my current job for almost 7 years. I only change jobs when I am unhappy or not making enough $$. Best wishes.
wow i normally get bored around 2 years.... but i have thought it best to change jobs around 5 years gain more experience and better positions
Most of my career has been spent in the AeroSpace Industry. Two different companies, the first for eight years and the second for twenty-seven years. I retired early (55) and became a professional driver.

I have just started... Well, I have changed 3 jobs in lat 1 year..... I know dats not a gud score but wat 2 do.. .sum or d other problem crops up.. sum employers I leave n some left me... wht shud b d 1st priority......

You're reading How often do you change jobs? I've been at the same place for ten years. I'm thinking of making a change.
