I might be slightly confused here but for them to be fraternal twins doesn't that mean they have to be from the same father, and doesn't that directly contradict the question?
-
how is that possible?
-
yes they are twins and it has happened; link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twin

By definition they will be either fraternal or semi-identical. Fraternal twins is when the mother ovulates two eggs then two sperm will be involved in fertilization. Semi-identical twins is when the egg cell divides into two identical egg cells after ovulation but before fertilization. The only way in which the sperm can be from different fathers is if the woman has sex with another man for up to 7 days (the life-span of sperm in the woman's body is 5-7 days).

Yes, and it's happened before. http://www.dnacenter.com/media/twins-different-fathers.html It's also possible that two males or two females are born to different fathers (just as long as they aren't identical).

Its possible, based on the fact that a woman can produce two ova in one menstrual cycle, and can have sexual intercourse with ono man and his sperm fertilises one egg. When she has sex with a different male, his soerm will possibly fertilise the remaining ovum. Just my opinion......
