  • Before we get any further along with this one, you need to provide a bit more info. He would not have sent you home just because he disliked you. There must have been a reason so c'mon, out with it. What did you to upset him?
  • I suspect you are being fired. In most states an employer must give you a final check after firing you within 24-48 hours (some states require immediate payment up[on termination). However, due to common delays in payroll processing, this is often difficult for the employer to comply with. Therefore, many employers have a policy that they will suspend you, which gives them time to generate your final check and then officially fire you once the check is available. It is certainly possible that this is not the case, but I have seen this scenario countless times. Also, if your boss only intended for you to be temporarily suspended he would have most likely giving you a definitive time frame. I would contact your employer tomorrow and inquire about whether you should return to work on Thursday, but be prepared for bad news. If your job is unionized or your company has a grievance procedure I would take advantage of it before they officially fire you. This will add credence to your complaint. However, most states are at will employment states and you can be fired for any reason (including the reason that your boss just does not like you).
