  • I would use historical when using it in reference to something and just historic when describing something.
  • Actually, it would depend on the way that you would use the sentence. Something historic would have to deal with something famous or important of history. Example-This historic statue was made 3,000 years ago. Something historical would mean something concerning of history or of concerning past events. Example- The historical events of WWII became a major change into new forms of government.
  • I think in common usage, many people mis-use 'historical' when they mean 'historic'. Thus in most cases, unless speaking of the history of history, historic is correct.
