Eighteen the same age that one could serve one's country. It's booze after all, you dumb prudes, WTF. The sooner the better because 18 years of age will get their way any how; I did and so did the rest of anyone else Knew. Funny thing is one year from now I will be double 18 :( (boo hoo) LoL

18 years of age. It you can sign a legally binding contract you should be able to cry in your beer over it. A lot of people also make a good point about military service.

I think they should lower it to sixteen for beer and "wine cooler" type drinks, and eighteen for hard alcohol. Also, the driving age should be increased to 18. This system works AMAZINGLY well in Europe. The logic is that you will get any excessive partying out of your system, and learn your limit BEFORE you are put behind the wheel of a dangerous vehicle. I'd rather have a bunch of drunk 16 year olds WALKING than a bunch of drunk 21 year olds DRIVING any day.

As a person who is totally against the consumption of alcohol, how about an impossible, "must be over 100 AND accompanied by a parent !!!" ... just kidding, age 18 is good ... vote & drink should have same age restrictions ...

I have smoked dope and drunk all my life since I was 12 it has done me no harm at all I believe 12 for beer it (US Beer is so weak anyway.) 16 for Spirits and 18 for Marijuana...no wait...was it 12 for sex, 16 for crack, 18 to vote...16 to vote 12 to fight for your Country, 18 for 3somes, lesbians at 16 Homosexuals shot at dawn... I am going to finis this spliff ..sort out my hot girlfriends and have a tinny I will get back to you when I have done my homework, supposing I can find this question again.

Maybe by age 30 people will are old enough to understand the consequences of what can go wrong when drinking....and driving....and raising children...

None; I stand by the 18th Amendment. The timing was horrible—they needed to spend at least a generation molding public opinion before outlawing alcohol entirely, just like they’re doing with cigarettes now—but all things being equal, we’d be a *lot* better off without legal means of procuring alcohol. (Let the dr’s begin.) :-/

18, if they keep the draft age and voting age at 18. otherwise they need to raise them to 21. if you're supposedly mature enough to serve and die for your country and vote for the leader of the free world then you should be mature enough to drink. one other option would be to have an exception for military members. if you show a military id then you can drink under 21.
