  • I think it's good for me to questions my own beliefs. I need to be reassured that this is what I really think and feel and believe. Also, I might not have all the information, or it's out of date. Plus it really makes you think about whether you're really set on this belief or if you're still wishy-washy. For me, it's a great way to get to know myself, and keep myself ever changing. I prefer not to be so rigid, and realize that things always change, and that my beliefs and opinions should change with them. Fantastic question, Magenta. :)
  • I think that if you don't question your own beliefs, you're insane. The mind is a tricky thing. If left unchecked, it'll distort things to its own pleasure. Reducing cognitive dissonance leads the mind more astray, which in turn causes more dissonance. The only true way to believe something is to challenge it over and over again and continuously come to the same conclusion.

  • I think it is normal. It is what makes us human.
  • I think it's only natural. Plus if when you do question them you end up coming to the conclusion you were right about believing such, it can only strengthen that.
  • good to a certain extent. if its excessive it can be bad for your mental health
  • I think that everyone questions their own beliefs at some point in their life. If you don't, chances are you don't really know what you believe in.
  • It's a very good thing to question your belief, it's often brought on by bad experiences, but in and of itself it's a beneficial and mind-expanding experience. If a person holds a belief, and yet doesn't have enough faith to always question it, then it can't be said that they ever truly held that belief in the first place. I think too many people are afraid to alter and update their beliefs as needed, thinking that you can ever have the world and everything in it completely figured out through a strict and unchanging belief system is arrogant and always, always false. After all, if you never question your beliefs, how can you ever get any answers out of them?
