  • I'd draw the line at about 10.
  • It depends on the size of your house, the type of pet, and if you are able to keep your house clean, so that it doesn't smell like a bunch of animals live in it. i hate walking into somebody's house and sitting on furniture covered in hair and smelling of urine.
  • For me it really depends on how many pets the family can afford and care for. That doesn't just mean have enough love for, but enough space in the house, and yard (if applicable). Enough time to play with, train, and excersize each one. Also, give each pet one on one time. Do you have enough money to feed, water, and provide medical care for all pets? What if it is hit by a car? Will you pay for the procedures needed to get your buddy up and running again, or just have him put down? Even without an accident, do you have the ability to get annual shots? In addition, are you able to keep your home and yard clean or is it overrun with pet hair, pet toys or pet droppings? Are we counting small pets in this count such as rats, hamsters, gerbils, goldfish, turtles, rabbits, etc? Or just dogs and cats? Small animals would make the number much higher as they are eaier to maintain, and create less mess as well as cost.
