No. Boring story in the first place.

12-21-2016 Given the CGI these days, I think it would be a waste of time. The original Dune was too long for a normal movie, slightly boring, but saved by a pretty good story. Using CGI they don't have to wait for anything good, they can just crank out a visual extravaganza. Same as a kaleidoscope: beautiful, but not worth a ticket.

It will be good if they stay true to the books. If they don't, then it's Russian roulette.

I sorta liked the Dune miniseries on SyFy. It was really low budget, but it did have a lot more of the book in it than the David Lynch movie. Someone uploaded the whole miniseries to YouTube (didn't check out the image quality) so you can look if interested.
