Afghanistan, absolutely - AQ was based there. Iraq, no direct link to 9/11 or AQ, but you could argue that the US was eliminating a future nuclear threat from Iraq.

no. i think that the wars are linked to the fact that both iraq and afghanistan have huge oil resources. why else would they inhabitants of each country set the oil fields/pumps alight? they realised the US was only after their oil. petrol is too expensive in this country! (the UK that is)
