Thats the law in the UK, and I believe in it, but the power of the unions now is all but gone except maybe in the public services now.

Here is some points some troll gave you negative points.I do believe they should have a right to organize and companies like Walmart and others should not have the right to prevent unions.I have been in 3 different unions in my life and belong to one now.Unions are needed to protect the worker from the employer.If the employer has his way with the employee,then the wages are way to low,less holidays,no medical coverage,in some countries.

Yes I do believe very strongly in the need for unions. In this respect I'm fortunate in being from a country where the only organisations not allowed to have a union are the Police and the Armed Forces. There are some companies who have made non-union agreements with their employees, but I think they are mainly Japanese motor manufacturers, who have good employee relations anyway. Of course there must be many 'sweat shop' types of employment using illegal aliens who don't have unions, but that's a different argument entirely.

I think workers are in greatly needed for a union to protect their benefits/rights. For the employers are usely much more powerful than any single worker.
