What are your thoughts on this statement? Every time the media reports a terrorist attack, the terrorists win.

Yes they do the media even reveal to other up n coming idiots how to make the bombs etc. The press are out of control and as a conspiracy theory probably pay for some things to happen in order that they are just in the right place to get photo's of people in severe distress. They wind me up I am afraid!

It is the job of the media to do so after all so I cannot blame them from just doing the job that they do. I may seem a little thick but I don't see what the purpose is of terrorism. It's not like they are about to achieve the goal they aim for. I would like to rename terrorists as criminals. The best way to attack them is to give them a name that garners the opprobrium of all societies. It takes their platform away when you start to brand them as the most lowest word in human society. Criminal translates lovely into all the world languages. The only way to win the war on terrorism is to give the terrorists a universally hated name in order to gain condemnation against them by all societies.

Not at all! The terrorists only win when they stop us from doing something because of our fear of them doing something! The media do what they are paid to do and what WE pay them to do! They report the news!

I would disagree... the media is just doing it's job reporting newsworthy events. The terrorist wins when we do something irrational based on fear (such as starting an unwinnable war on the opposite side of the world based on unfounded fears that were exaggerated even if they had been true). In short, terrorists win to the degree we allow fear-mongering to prevail in our own minds.
