  • This current earth and heavens will melt away with a fervent heat. There will be a great white throne judgment, where Jesus Christ, the One True Judge will received into the kingdom of God everyone whose name is written in His Book of Life. There will then be a new heaven and a new earth. Those who make it will be spending their eternity worshipping the King of kings and Lord of lord, Jesus Christ, Who is God Himself manifested in humanity and glorified. We will behold the New Jerusalem descending from heaven to the new earth. It has four walls with three entry gates on each side, and it has twelve foundations, each made of a complete gem mineral. It is 4-square and is HUGE. Each side is roughly the equivalent of 1600 miles long. Yes ... that is 1600 miles just to drive along the south wall. Then if you turn north, you'll drive 1600 miles to the north wall, then 1600 miles across that. And here's the REAL kicker. Each wall is as HIGH as it is WIDE. Yes, that means this city is 1600 miles HIGH up in the air. If indeed there is "air" as we know it then. This will probably create far more questions than this can answer, but beyond what the scripture says about the dimensions of this city, it also says there is a throne in the middle, where ONE rules from it, the Lord Jesus Christ. The streets are made with pure gold. There is a crystal river that flows through the New Jerusalem, and in the midst of the river there is the Tree of Life. And this tree will bear a different fruit each month. It's leaves are also for the healing of the nations.
  • It a good selling point for a religion.

  • I love Leezee's answer-Thanks I needed a laugh!! Seriously though-We will be in Eden as God first wanted. There will be no pain, no desease, NO EVIL of any sort. We will be able to walk with God and ask Him all the questions we want the answers to now. We will want for nothing. It will be perfect-whatever you consider perfect. It is our reward for trying to be as Jesus was when He was with us. By spreading His word, living by His word. God Bless and Happy New Year, <:))))<><
  • Well, God is a Creator and I imagine He'll enjoy sharing His creations with His redeemed children just as He let Adam name the animals He made. He created us to share a loving, personal relationship with Him and each other, and now being reconciled to Him through Jesus, that can continue. Also, the concept of Heaven as being a bunch of people with wings and halos "cloud-hopping" is an extra-Biblical idea, if not unBiblical. The Bible says God's new creation will be a whole new universe, "new heavens and a new earth." (Is. 65:17) This world is spoken of as a fallen creation that yearns to be redeemed and made new (Rom. 8:22). How easy it is for people to see the beauty still in the flowing waterfalls and sunlit skies, majestic mountains and solemn forests! And this world only a shadow of the one to come, where God's creation will truly be glorious. I also suspect computers and the great inventions, architecture, etc... of the world's greatest nations will be there because Revelation 21:24-26 speaks of the glory and honour of the nations being brought into the new creation. At any rate, there will be no death, disease, sickness, pain, sorrow, or suffering since the only people there will be those with God's love in their heart who have died to their once evil natures. First inwardly through the heart transaction that makes a person a Christian, and then the sin nature from their flesh will be destroyed when we are given new bodies as God sees fit to give, and we will not only be free to abstain from sin (as we now are through Jesus, being freed from slavery to sin and lusts even though we still make mistakes) but the flesh will no longer even tempt us to make mistakes or mess up. I expect animals will be able to talk, and since God will be making a new creation even better than the first, it will be interesting to see what it looks like. I doubt we will have wings like the common Catholic myth suggests, but according to the Bible: 1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. Jesus also said He is preparing mansions for us in heaven so I assume the housing situation might be similar to now, but there will not be want for all there will have enough so far as basic needs.
  • Most don't know. I know this because I have asked a number of people this question. Most people will say simply, "I guess that I will find out when I get there". Quite a flippant answer considering that they believe that they will be ruling as Kings with Christ Jesus in heaven! You would think that they had a better idea than that. There is no guessing involved here, because the Bible clearly says what those who have been selected from mankind to go to heaven will do. At Revelation 20:6. it says"they will be priests of God and of the Christ, and will rule as kings with him for the thousand years." See also Luke 12:32; Rev. 7:4; 14:1, 3. Obviously as in any kingdom, only a relatively small portion of the population serves as priests or as kings. What about the vast majority of righteous mankind? They will live in paradise on the earth. This is God&'s original purpose for mankind.
  • Smiling down on good things God is doing to the world :)
  • Common interpretations of the Bible do generally profess that those who meet certain criteria will go to Heaven when they die. Those interpretations have been around for many centuries, and so those who take their spiritual guidance from them often believe that they are among the "chosen few" and will go to Heaven also. But there is another kind of answer as well: we all want to be free from suffering, to experience a sense of wonder, wholeness, joy, etc. Ideally, we'd like this experience to be unending. Since it seems to most people that ordinary life offers no such opportunities, the temptation to posit some alternate reality where we can have that experience is pretty strong. Its reasonable to consider that the widely held beliefs about Heaven owe their existence to this very human desire to experience complete happiness permanently. There are some problems with this viewpoint, of course: for one thing, to the degree someone believes that their ultimate destination is Heaven, their efforts here on Earth tend to be limited. Note for example the current American "Christian" administration's lack of regard for environmental issues: if its all going to be over in a few years (e.g. the events in Revelations will play out) and the "good guys" are going to heaven anyway, why bother taking care of the planet we're on? Its just a temporary home, right? Or consider that it tends to minimize efforts toward producing "heaven-on-earth": A world free from poverty and war, where each person is valued and has the opportunity to make the most of their life, where a commitment to serving the Whole of life underlies all cultures, etc. -- why should one work hard on that kind of vision if our sights are set on the hereafter? Indeed, many who believe in Heaven have a corresponding belief that the world is inherently corrupt and that such efforts are hopelessly doomed from the outset (e.g. the Devil owns the world, or something like that.) I've met Christians who take a different tack with regard to Heaven: they consider that their faith is really about here-and-now; about the quality of life they live day-to-day, about their service to others, and about their immediate relationship with God/Christ. They may believe that Heaven is their final destination, but that isn't what their religion is focussed on, and it isn't their primary motivation for action. Although I'm not Christian, to me that kind of Christianity is a force for good in the world. I'm sure the same can be said for many Jews and Muslims, although I don't know as many people of those faiths personally.
  • I know that I will be praising my God for sving me and bringing me to such a place. I will be thanking God with all that I do and say for sending His son to die for my sins that I might live with Him in this perfect place forever.
  • By the way: It will NEVER get old! His is the creator of it all.
  • At Revelation 20:6. it says"they will be priests of God and of the Christ, and will rule as kings with him for the thousand years." So here it say's they will rule, but rule over what? That would be the rest of mankind that is also in God's favor. Then who are these others? "But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace." psalms 37:11
  • The only way to answer this question, is to be a good person and find out for yourself.
  • For the brain to function and think it need a blood supply and when it has no blood supply it is considered dead . Dead is dead and therefor no eternity. Do not get suckered in with all the religious dogma and above all remember that faith and belief need not proof so you can make up your own rules. So, if you like eating twinkies you can eat twinkies all day long and never never have to go to the bathroom for all eternity.
  • Probably alot of things they never expected to be doing.
  • It seems that as I have grown older my perspective on this has changed from "I wanna fly.. etc. el." to "everything that is perfect for me" based on my believe that GOD's relationship with me is similar to my relationship to my son.. Knowing that I if I had any power at any point in time, I would give him EVERYTHING that is best for him which includes things he would think of (he's only 10) and many things he would not.. 1 Corinthians 2:9 .."No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what GOD has prepared for those who love HIM"..
  • Everyone who answered the question, Re: what do people.......,are right. There are no wrong answers. Each opinion is their own and it is "right" for them. I have my opinion on this question also, but it is as diverse as all the others and it is my truths. I won't share it here but I will say I enjoyed reading all of yours. I had to laugh at some of the comments made about the answers to the answers. Apparently, they know something we don't.;)
  • in heaven, i think that people will be rejoicing and praising GOD and be in the presence of family and friends, and anyone they were affiliated with. upon "entrance" into heaven, i believe it will be a warm welcome. people will be so excited to "see" you when you get there. it will be a state of such peace, a state of pure happiness that cannot be explained in human terms. it is beyond our understanding. there will not be such things as worry, anger, or fear. only happiness. simply love.
  • first you cannot go to heaven unless u accept jesus as ur lord and saviour...and are born again.....if not, NO MATTER HOW GOOD OF A PERSON u are u will go to hell. Its simple....That's why Jesus says i am the way the truth and the life! Thats all i wanted to let u kno...cos people keep thinkin its because of GOOD deeds, or a humble life etc....NO....because no one on earth can ever be perfect and ONLY GOD is perfect! thats why he sent his SON the PERFECT ONE...to pay for our sins....and so we can inherit the joy and FREE gift of salvation....ITS AS EASY AS THAT!
  • Probably looking aaround and asking what time it is. The concept of existing in one place for eternity never made much sense to me.
  • I couldn't possibly bare to live for eternity... I'd much rather I was allowed to terminate my existence at some point : P If I wasn't allowed to do that, I imagine I would spend a great deal of it going completely insane from boredom.
  • IN the book of Revelation, there are some wonderful descriptions of heaven. One is in chapter 7 9 After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no-one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice: Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb. 11All the angels were standing round the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshipped God, 12 saying: Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honour and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen! 13Then one of the elders asked me, These in white robes— who are they, and where did they come from? 14 I answered, Sir, you know. And he said, These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore, they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them. 16 Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat. 17 For the Lamb at the centre of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There are some interesting things to learn from passages like this: *there will be lots and lots of people all interacting with one another *there will be lots and lots of singing and rejoicing *there are things to learn To me then, armed with passages like this, heaven is a place of activity and friendship, all in the presence of God. There will be no burn out, no overdoing it, but there will be lots to do.eg talking about our experiences with God, learning more about Him and about one another, and learning just what really did happen when .... There will also be lots of singing and partying. I am looking forward to listening to the music of all the nations, tribes, subtribes etc of all ages as they perform in front of the throne of God. There will be more than enough to keep us going for eternity...just cathching up with all those I loved here on earth and said "we must talk" and yet didn't get to, will keep me busy.
  • whatever they want to do. its heaven isn't it?
  • Worshipping the Lord Jesus Christ. -In the service of the Master. :) Thank you and God bless you!
  • I think it was and is God's intention that we don't know what heaven will be like. Like many other things in and outside the universe we don't fully understand, heaven is one of these. He does give some hints in the bible, but part of having faith is trusting in things we have not seen.
  • Poker? ;-)
  • My mind can't deal with eternity, but I am somewhat curious about what I will do for that first 777,777 years,,, just a small span of time like the next two ice ages on earth.
