I'm afraid this isn't quite enough for me to go on, in giving you the best advice or suggestions. I can say that there are many medications used by Vets for treatment of things of this nature THAT ARE NOT GOOD FOR YOUR DOG! Let me double check something and I'll post some links for you to check out! Edit to add links: The first several cover alternative treatments for joint issues. The later groups discuss Rimadyl and other typical Western Medicine treatments and their side effects. http://dogcentral.msn.com/article.aspx?cp-documentid=4936011 http://www.shirleys-wellness-cafe.com/amailbag.htm http://www.arthritis-glucosamine.net/pet-arthritis-chronicle/jan03.html http://www.homeopet.com/ http://www.srdogs.com/Pages/rimadyl.rec.html http://www.pgaa.com/canine/health/rimadylwarning.html Your dog's BEST BET is for YOU to become more informed about the different treatments that are available and how they will effect your dog's current challenge, and also how they can effect your dog's future health. THEN, you can make informed decisions and not simply be at the mercy of any one Vet, you can be part of the solution in a more proactive manner!
