For asking a question and posting answer you should make sure they make sense.

Being specific and clear. Sometimes I ask a question and I get an answer that I wasn't really asking for. When answering a question make sure you are actually answering the question not deviating from the answer. No CAPS. Check question twice for spelling and grammar. If there is more than one question keep it related. Otherwise start a new one.

Leave your questions open ended. Don't use all caps. Word your questions in a neutral fashion if possible (so you will get all views). Don't ask for points. Don't list users names or link their questions and answers in a negative fashion. And IMHO, don't use foul language. Again, IMO, don't use abbreviated text message lingo. I'm sure there are other good tips I am forgetting. Between all the answers given, you will have a great list.

Use grammar that at least if it isn't perfect, makes sense. TRY to use grammar that makes sense! When asking questions, PLEASE make sure they have an "?" at the end. Otherwise it isn't a question. Also, when asking a question, try to be as specific as possible. For example instead of saying: 'Household cleaners?' Try, "I'm thinking of changing brands of household cleaners. I use 409 now, but what are some other, equally good or better options?" When answering questions, try, if possible, to use good punctuation, grammar and capitalization. When answering questions, consider sticking to the point. If they ask about ice cream, please don't answer with something to do with trains. When you think of a really good question, please consider SEARCHING to make sure the question hasn't already been asked. Having the same question 3 times really makes a mess of our boards, and having to search through all those sets of answers- there's no need. Instead, just answer the previously asked question, or if you are only looking for answers, read what has already previously been written. When asking questions, consider making the question open ended, or vague enough to let people make their own answers. For example, "What is your favorite holiday, Christmas or Easter?" OR "What is your favorite holiday?" It gives more options for more answers. When asking questions, please consider leaving your intentions out of it. "Why do you have sex at such a young age, when you know it's a sin?" as an example. Instead of putting your judgemental remarks IN the question (because no one is going to answer THAT) save it for a comment, like the rest of us! NEVER ask for points in a question. Answerbag is NOT about the points. Anyone caught doing so will be flagged faster than you can say "Pointstitute". It IS against the terms of service to do so. Don't forget to have fun!
