Do the paperboys in America really just ride past and throw the papers at the house, like in the films?

Not where I live, usually its an adult in a beat up car throwing the newspapers out their car window

We've got a guy in a battered white pickup that weaves back and forth across the street chucking the papers out of both the drivers and passengers windows. It usually lands in my azaleas. One time he got the paper to land amongst my thorny rose bushes and I saw him give himself a fist pump. ...bastard.

I Married the Paper girl !) when I was 18 and still living at my parents, they had a paper girl who WALKED the entire neighborhood, delivering papers door to door or placing in a paper box under the mailbox. she was 16 and cute as heck, we started dating and got married the following year ( it only lasted 17 years though) but no our paper"boy" walked and delivered door to door.
