Well i don't know about it being a good idea, but i prefered the show after she died as opposed to when she was alive. So it was a good move in my opinion.

I never really followed the show - I heard she was getting too big for her britches, which is why she was written out. Reminded me of 90210 when Brenda was nixed.

I a way I don't really think that the 4th season would have been as good if Marissa was still there. It was sad, but kind of better. Ryan was a lot happier even if he missed Marissa :)

The show wasn't the same without Marissa...I still liked it though. They were getting to old and running out of story line, the show would've ended even if Marissa was still on it. I don't think they wrote her off though, I heard Misha Barton left the show on her own.
