Calm down to start! You don't want to stress out your Dog! A NORMAL temperature for a dog is: 100.4 to 102.2 So, while your dog's temp is a pinch low, it's not dire yet! It is best to use either a Ball End (typical rectal)thermometer or a digital reserved only for the pets in the house. You can check for hydration by doing a skin pinch test yourself. Just grab some loose skin near the shoulder or back and give it a light pinch, hold it a moment and let go. If the skin immediately flattens out, the dog is safely hydrated, if it stays up and pinched or flattens back down very slowly, the dog is in need of hydration...water..the slower and more pinched it is when you let go the more of an emergency you are facing. If this is the case, THEN, call in and go to an emergency clinic. IF there is bright, red blood coming from the dog, call the emergency clinic. Otherwise, waiting until 2:00 would probably not be a problem for your dog. If the dog is shivering a lot, cover it with a blanket and if you still feel highly stressed about it...call your regular Vet back and ask if you can please come in sooner that you are worried. You didn't mention any other symptoms, and as you say, the Temp is not HIGH at all, but slightly low, so I'm not sure what else may be going on. Good luck, hopefully all is well, and it's going to be a simple fix.

She is not dehydrated and she is not bleeding. She feels a little hot and her nose is running but the main thing we are worried about is her breathing. Do you know if there is anything we could do that would help that? She seems very calm right now but we were going to let her sleep for awhile. One more thing untill we go to the vet is there anything you would suggest we do for her or right now is sleep the best thing for her? Thanks so much.
