For some reason I really dislike the word "refresh". Is there a word or a phrase that you really hate for no particular reason?

Words that offend me are just a few. Some others are secular permanic pandemic I just don't know why, they irritate me when I hear them. Oh, and let's not for get Tom Cruise. =)

phlegm. A horrible sounding word for a horrid thing we get when we get sick.

When I ask people, what's the longest word you know? And they say supercalafragialisticexpialadocious that bothers the heck out of me and I will shudder! The longest word I can think of that isn't from a stupid song is antidisestablishmentarianism I like that word. Imagine, in basket ball two player game horse, using that word? I tried it once with my friend who was dislexic and even I had trouble keeping up with it!

Lady Fuschia, perhaps I can be of some assistance. Whenever you feel as though you need to use the word "refresh" in conversation, simply replace it with a word of similar meaning. I propose you use the word F5, as Microsoft have reliably informed me that "Refresh" and "F5" mean the same thing. To give an example; "My, Tarquin, how delectable and scrumptious this lemon tart is!" "Indeed, Gertrude, very F5ing."

Not really just a word but... "Up and coming" Music artists have overused it to the point that it makes me wanna puke! BTW, I haven't run into you in a long time! *hugs*

"Culture" I really, truly despise that word, especially when used in reference to things like art, dining, etc. It seems like calling something "Cultural", or worse yet "Multi-Cultural" is so often just another way of saying "You should appreciate and value this, even if it's no good in and of itself, because if you don't then you're intolerant, closed-minded swine." Calling something "Cultural" always strikes me as a thinly veiled threat.

the word "kosher" makes me shudder, especially in the context that my boyfriend insists on using it. me: "I'm going to the store." him: "That's kosher." me: "Honey, I broke the remote again!" him: "that's NOT kosher."

"That's wet" My cousin would say that all the time playing basketball when he was sure his shot was going to be a swish... It got old real fast.
