If all the humans disappeared on earth what would happen to the environment and the animals?

It would probably get better. There wouldn't be any more garbage piling up, there wouldn't be any of the smog to crum up the skys... I'm sure it would be a beautiful place.

Things would just run their course. Domesticated animals would have a challenge. The rest would never miss us.

You know? I find the answers given so far to this question to be quite illustrative of the consequences of decades of radical environmentalism. Note that not one of the answers given to this point has lamented the possibility of humans disappearing. Most seem to think that our disappearance would be beneficial. This precisely the kind of self loathing that the extremists want to instill in all of us. So, for those of you who think that the world would be better off without us, what are you doing to see to it that this happens?

The environment and the animals would still be doomed for extinction because of what we have done to the planet. For example science, the creation and testing of nuclear weapons, building nuclear reactors to provide energy for cities and major developmental corporations which are putting infinite amounts of pollution into the atmosphere. So, if humans disappeared it wouldn't make much of a difference.

Some would die, others would struggle and the rest would survive, probably better without us here. The pollution levels would certainly clear up.

animals would say yay... and have a huge party... the place would be alot healthier... no more pollution... the animals would get ALOT of a bigger place to live... and more chance of survival for them we really should move... how about mangojuice.. thats a nice planet right ?

Another predator would work its way to the top of the food chain. Things would be pretty different. The environment would probably improve drastically if there were no humans to deforest, and deplete the earth's natural sources.
