I spent 19 months in Iraq and Kuwait in 1990-1991. I can assure you that this is no laughing matter. I saw people who were gassed with stuff that wouldda made the Nazi's cringe. This has happened in many of the world's "brushfire wars" in the latter half of the 20th century. Some of those people could have been your relatives. Or you yourself. Please do not joke about it.

"Ethnic Cleansing" is little more than a code word for genocide. It's first major useage in the mass media was in the early-1990's during the Yugoslav wars, to describe the Kosovo Albanian administration's efforts to exterminate all non-Albanian people within Yugoslavia, supposedly for the purposes of creating an "Ethnically Clean" (i.e. %100 Albanian) territory. Not only does it have nothing at all to do with soap, it's also quite a serious matter, genocide is pretty close to the top of the list of "Things Never to Joke Around About".
