  • Yes and no.
  • Until the start of this decade popular music was actually quite good. It is only since the advent of boy band/girl band crap that pop music has gone down hill. The problem with it is that it is popular with kids. By kids I mean pre-teens. And now that cd's are relativly cheap (The price has fallen over the past 10 years or so where as wages have risen) mummy and daddy are more than happy to go and buy that cd for their little 8yo child. Music is a business, if you can sell 5 million crap records or 500000 good ones, the crap records will allways get the nod over the good ones! You do ofc still get the good records that sell those half million copies, but they get less air time on the radio as the crap records that sold 5 million for exactly the same reason, money! Radio stations make money through advertising, the more listeners the more they charge the advertisers.
