They may be allergic. Death tends to scare people quite a bit.

I think that they are scared of being stung by a bee. I know I am.

Some are allergic but for me it's because I was stung several times as a kid. I seemed to attract them. If I hadn't been, I think I'd be fine. But, it's just something about feeling something moving on your hand, turning it over, and seeing a big fuzzy bug driving a spike into your hand. As a kid it scared me. I'm pretty much over it now but that's my reason.

They don't want to get stung or may be allergic. But being scared is the worse thing to do as they seem to go right for that person and leave me alone. Just act natural and most bees will leave you alone unless you bother them.

I've been stung a few times, and I generally won't die of it, but I sure swell up a lot, and it's very painful. Usually it's past experience either with them or with seeing someone else.

Allergic reactions -that's what scares me. My sisters were afraid of them because they once saw me almost die from a bee sting. People may also be afraid of them because they inherit the fear -they learn to be afraid of them... (like my kids who have always been aware of my fear of bees).
