  • I hate talking on the phone to pretty much anyone. I enjoyed it as a teenager, but nowadays I find I much prefer to talk to people in person and try to get off the phone as soon as I can.
  • I really do hate it. I am not much of a phone person with friends either, but I really despise talking to other people on the phone. I don't like making calls; I don't like answering them. I usually let my voicemail answer at work, then listen to the message, and decide whether I need to return the phone call, or whether I can simply put the information they need into an email and send it out that way. I really don't like talking to people on the phone, at all. I'm not sure why I'm like that - the rest of my family and friends are just fine talking on the phone to everyone and their brothers... It's nice to know that there are other people out there like this too.
  • Yes I hate it, to me a phone is for business use, or to call my friends and family just to get news and see how they are. I do not like to hold long conversations. I call my Mother every day she is 4000 miles away.
  • Yes, it gives me a headache.
  • Yes. I use it to the minimum extent that is possible. Talking over telephone some how appears artificial to me. In the olden days, there were very few telephones. If I want to talk to a person, I had to go to his place. If he is not there, I leave a word and go there again at some other time. I still practice the same.
  • Yes, I hate talking on the phone. I have to really love you to talk on the phone with you. And it takes a great effort on my part to make necessary calls for other reasons.
  • I will talk to a close friend or family member if they call me but I do not call other people very often. To me the phone is a tool. And it hurts my neck to keep talking on the phone, holding it up to my ear. Maybe if I had a headset.
  • Yes. Especially when it's with a casual friend that I don't normally talk to; if I can't think of things to say to them during the day, what will we talk about over the phone? It gets tedious.
  • I'm fine with talking on the phone (good thing, since I tend to wind up with jobs that involve phone time), but my husband hates it. He'll send text to my phone or e-mail rather than call.
  • I HATE talking on the phone but am finding that it has become a problem. How do you maintain friendships if you do not pick up the phone? My phone is ringing less and less.....(Good and bad!)
  • I make my living on the phone and I want nothing to do with it in my free time.
  • I also hate the telephone. I work in an open office and find it painful when my boss asks me to call someone. I tend to stumble over my words and end up sounding like an idiot. I like to be brief, wanting to hang up as soon as possible. Nobody else in my office has this problem. It is absoloutely embarassing.
  • Ugh. I absolutely hate it! My boyfriend always wants to call and talk. But I wish he could understand that I hate not talking to someone while being able to see their face. Webcams don't count either.
  • I love to talk to people..period
  • It really annoys me when people call and just want to chat about stuff. Like someone said earlier, to me the phone is a business instrument, not a social connection. I find my mind wandering, looking at all the stuff on my desk I SHOULD be doing, and I start thinking about that instead of listening, which then pisses off my friend (or whoever is on the phone). This is especially a problem with my girlfriend, who seems to think that if I don't call her at least four times a day that suddenly I no longer love her. She feels the same way when I lose interest while she's talking to me. Is there something wrong with ME?
