Yes, I sometimes do, but I usually go back and correct my oversight...I am actually worse about forgetting to rate the question

Have you ever been reading through answers and come across one you thought was really good. Tried to give it points only to realise that it was a previous answer of your own?

Why do a lot of users here appear to forget that an "Edit" button is ever-present on every one of their answers? (For example, after a commenter points out an error in one's answer, the answer doesn't get edited. Why?)
