An iPod is a music player made by Apple.

An mp3 is a compressed music format.

iPods can play mp3 format tracks (so is an mp3 player), but most people use AAC (another compressed music format) as it is better quality.

An mp3 player is a player that can play mp3s. They may also be able to play other file formats, including AAC & WAV.
