If you define God as the creator of life, God IS the laws of science.

I don't catch myself believing it, I DO believe it. The world and everything in it, including all of mankind, is governed by Law. Some people like to personalize It by calling It "god", making It a "man", worshipping It, and arguing incessantly over It. So confusing and a waste of time and energy.

Yes, I came into this way of thinking when I was 27. I was thinking about the molecular structure of matter, gravity, magnetism and electricity and what these things actually are. And how since everything in tangible existence is made up of small particles, how important the force is that actually holds everything together. And the possibility that God may be closer to these things (gravity, magnetism and electricity) than I might have been aware of before.

Look into Taoism. The Tao is not like a western God concept- it's not a person in any sense, you don't talk to it or pray to it. The Tao is simply a force of nature, energy that establishes the flow of the universe. If the western God is a king on a throne and we are all his subjects, then Tao is a river, and we are all fish swimming in it.

A lot of times, I think that God isn't infallible or perfect or any of that. We've all seen TV shows where someone accidentally creates a world and all of the little people in it worship their creator, but their creator is always some confused, bumbling moron? Not that I think God is a moron, but I imagine that He/She/It/Whatever is only "human" or whatever the infallible deity term is for that. I hope I don't get struck by lightning for all this blaspheming.

Being an atheist, I have no belief in God. However, sometimes I have wondered whether there is some sort of 'creation' power in the universe that stimulates things to happen - this would not be an 'intelligent' creator who has an intent to create - but something more on par with a force like gravity. (Oh dear, I've just realised what I'm describing is quite like 'The Force' in 'Star Wars')

Usually when I catch myself thinking about it, it's just the opposite. I usually just tell myself that it's more complicated than we can understand and it comes as a load off my mind as far as unanswered questions.

Yes. When I see the complex mythologies some groups of people invent, I believe that the actual truth of the matter MUST be simpler.
