  • You may be required to file for guardianship of her. You need to ask about a medical power of attorney.
  • Get her to give you POA as soon as possible. You may want to research into what type of dementia she might have. There are over 200 types, some of which are due to improper medication. Then depending on the type there are many medications that can help with the slowing of the process, like namenda that may help her be independent longer. She needs to have this addressed by an MD asap so she can make preperations while at the same time prolonging her independance
