What things in your life will never change (job, spouse, house, religion, etc.)? How can you be sure?

i no longer believe that the things mentioned will never change. everything is up for grabs.

My relatioship with God. Everything else is subject to the tragedies and erosions of time.

The entire universe is in a state of entropy. This means that change is both inevitable and unavoidable. Staying the same is an impossibility. The best we can hope for is to choose wisely the speed and direction of our next change. There are, however, a few eternal truths and a few things that will remain unchanged for the duration of my life. My gender, my DNA, the basic foundations of my beliefs (although the details change with every pulse), the fact that I actually want to be helpful (although who & how I help also changes constantly). I can be sure because there is a certain absoluteness and rightness to the feelings one gets when one finds a certain truth, then makes that truth a foundation for the rest of their life. Like Buddha said, "No one person can ever change the truth, but the truth, once learned, can and will change the person."

I changed all three if those in the last year. ("Religion" changed years ago). You can never be TOO sure, because nobody knows what tomorrow may bring. It only takes a minute for the world to change!
