  • I don't know if anyone could answer that one for you. It's in the "Will find out one day" category, sorry. Wish I could be more helpful.
  • Jesus was not a virgin birth. The immaculate conception refers to the birth of Virgin Mary, not the virgin birth of Jesus. It is commonly confused with the doctrine of Virgin Birth, by which mary became pregnant with Jesus through the Holy Spirit. Under the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception, Mary was granted immunity from all suspicion of sin at the moment she was concieved. Unfortunately, the Bible doesn't make any reference to this happening. It only became an official Catholic dogma in 1854. So the genes would've passed on.
  • I think the best way to describe what happened was that God implanted a "test tube baby" inside Mary and although she carried it, she was not a genetic contributor because if she was, then Jesus would not be born perfect.
  • I think it would be like in vitro fertilization. The biological parents would be both Mary and God the Father. Joseph would be the step (or foster) father. So yes, I believe she would be part of the gene pool.
  • the Bible tells us Mary was human , same as us..it does not tell when she died or where she was buried...it also does not say "she was born perfect" as Christ was...that is Cathoilc doctrine made dogma in 1800"s I believe...it was simply a MIRACLE and Blessing bestowed on a "servant of God" whom HE CHOSE...she was never to be exalted beyond that..and wasn't as far as Scripture...not even Christ did that....HE did HONOR HIS MOTHER(obeyed the 5th Commandment, as HE did all Commandments while on earth) before HE died. Christ BIRTH was a MIRACLE(with God all things are possible), the Bible explains this simply and practically...Mary was not perfect, she was a sinner. Christ had no sin, HE was perfect. HE could not inherit genetically from a non perfect ...Mary was the vessel of Davidic descent(as told HE would be)who had the honor of being chosen..thats it.... she is rarely mentioned after her work was done... she was a humble, , faithful woman...as all God's HELPERS were.... A genetic clone of GOD and no other...HE WOULD NOT have been perfect// the immaculate conception teaches Mary had to of been born perfect also...but that is no where to be found in Scripture... it also says Mary and Joseph did not consummate their marriage until after Jesus was born and they had 4 boys and a few daughters at least but does not say how many... we have to take the WORD at "face value" or what's the use, people, come on....hot or cold...lukewarm is not permitted.... we'll all see HIS miracles in due time and I AM READY!!! we have to BELIEVE and READ....God Bless
  • I agree with VS. Despite the mythological connotation this term generally implies, the mortal Christ could accurately be called a “demigod”: while He was certainly the great God Jehovah in flesh and blood, He was still in flesh and blood; that came from Mary. The fact that He was both God and man is evidenced by His death on the cross: He didn’t technically die at the Jews’ and Romans’ hands; He gave up His life for us. Had He been fully immortal (a clone of God), He would have been unable to die. Had He been fully human, He wouldn’t have been able to give His life as He chose. So bottom line: yes, I can’t see how Jesus wouldn’t have genetic information from each of His biological parents, namely God the Father and Mary. HTH!
