Help answer this question below.
The muscles that contract the blood vessels in your penis contrict blood flow quite a lot in order for there to be an erection. If it last for too long a time there's the possibiilty cells starting to die from lack of fresh oxygen-rich blood getting to the cells of your penis. Worst case scenario is developing gangrene.
So you can get it back in your pants...sorry couldnt resist that.

You're reading Why must you seek medical attention for an erection lasting more than four hours?
Comments
Hummm never knew that... so basically if its lasts longer then 4 hours get ready the cells are dying and its going to fall off.
*Sorry I could not resist saying that.

Should be an automatic shutoff valve or maybe that's broken too :)

Nature doth provide! Usually you will indeed automatically lose erection that last for a couple of hours but some types of nerve diseases and well as reactions to various sexual simulation drugs can cause prolonged erections.. constant prolonged erection that continue without let-up for several hours perhaps a day or two can lead to oxygen starvation of the penis but if your typical man doesn't have to worry about this.
