  • I'm car-stupid but I know that brakes will squeak when they're worn, and when they're worn so low that they need to be changed very soon they'll start squealing all the time (there's a little sensor that starts to rub when it gets that low).
  • I am a G.M. line tech. and you need brakes. I'd just about bet the mechanic looked at the outboard pads and didn't even bother to check the inboard pads which by the way are the primary pads and tend to wear quicker. I bet the inboard pads a all but gone and it wont be long until the rotors are being damaged.
