Yes, Japan uses the same system as USA. You should have no problem if you use the Video input on the TV. The tuners are different frequency so the RF adapter probably won't work. Technical info for Japan and USA System: M Colour: NTSC Japan uses 100V compared to 120V in the USA (no problem, the PS2 power supply input voltage is 100V-240V)and both use the same plug style, however, the frequency in USA is 60Hz but in Japan it varies by region. Eastern Japan uses predominantly 50 Hz (Tokyo, Kawasaki, Sapporo, Yokohoma, Sendai), whereas Western Japan prefers 60 Hz (Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, Hiroshima). If you go to a 60Hz region then no problem, in a 50Hz region there may be some sync problems. 60Hz equals 30 Frames per Second (actually 29.97) and 50Hz equals 25 Fames per Second. From what I understan, there should be no problem using a US palystation in Japan and vice-versa.
