  • Good Luck!! Here's a site: http://toddlerstoday.com/resources/articles/airplane.htm
  • Keep them awake for as long as possible prior to the flight. They'll sleep through most of it.
  • Don't bring too much stuff - condense it as much as you can. The more junk you have to carry the harder it is - I did so recently with only a bookbag and a little carry harness thing for the smaller child.
  • Plenty of things to distract them, and gum helps with the ear pressure, Also you may want to get some Dramamine if they haven't flown before, this will help for motion sickness
  • I'm a single parent of 2 small kids going to visit family in Europe soon and would like any tip on how to keep them quiet and on their seat and how I go about for changing diapers etc... I'm a little freaked by the idea.
  • Don't forget to take your car seats. They are a pain to drag around, but it is an extremely familiar environment in an unfamiliar situation. I did this when my daughter was 2 and the flight attendants went out of thier way to remark on what a good little flier she was.
  • If any of them are babies and can't chew gum, make sure they are sucking on something (breast, bottle, or pacifier) during the take-off and landing. Most airplanes have a pull down changing table in the bathroom. Don't forget small baggies for the diapers. The televisions on international flights usually feature channels with children's programs. You might also wish to consider one of those cheap, portable dvd players with a little screen. Good luck!
