I don't think they reduce hunger, but I know they do make food taste different..not as good.

Fact. Or it should be for most people, since the nicotine is a stimulant, not unlike the stimulants in diet pills. Some people smoke to keep them from eating, then when they quit smoking, they gain weight. There are many healthier ways to lose weight other than smoking more or smoking at all. You are actually doing your body more potential harm overall with the tobacco than you are with being overweight. PS: Carrots are a terrific snack food for dieters - they are sweet and the crunch helps also. Same with **unbuttered** seasoned popcorn.

It doesn't really reduce hunger...most people don't gain weight because they eat only when they're hungry. It cuts down on nibbling out of boredom and stress.

my sister could go all day and eat nothing as long as she had her cigs and cups of tea and she did this for years, now she doesnt smoke and eats a good well balanced diet so for her yes it was true.

I have never found that to be true. If it were true then there wouldn't be fat smokers.

I would not say that they reduced hunger, but when I was a smoker I would have a cigatette instead of a bar of chocolate. Not that I am advocating smaoking as an appetite suppressant I gave up that habit years ago.

I don't know if it actually is, but I can go for longer periods of time without eating because of my cigarettes.
